Rebel Matters was founded in 2017 as an audio-only podcast platform hosting conversations around culture, community, and matters of rebellion and revolution. Nearly 10 years later, we are now focused on creating video-form podcast interviews and documentary filmmaking.
With the increase in the weaponisation of traditional media, the advent of artificial intelligence, and the lethal targeting of journalists and filmmakers who speak out against injustice, there has never been a more important time for independent media production that gives voice to those on the ground. It is also a critical time to remain connected to creativity and artistic production in the face of the injustices faced by people all around the world today.
To this end, our mission today is threefold:
Create podcasts and films that deepen our understanding of culture, community, and revolution.
Build an archive of content that will serve as a time-capsule of our time.
Strengthen ties between radical artists, activists, and organisers locally and internationally.
So far we have produced over 130 episodes of the Rebel Matters Podcast and are working to create more episodes and expand the production and reach of the show.
Rebel Matters is 100% audience supported and without our valued Patrons we would not be able to continue our work. Right now we are working hard to make Rebel Matters a valuable and sustainable resource for anyone who wants to learn more about culture, community and revolution.
If you are in a position to help us become financially independent and would like to support our work, please consider becoming a Patron at the link below. Our current goal is to get to 100 Patrons, and we are just over half way there at the moment.
